Maura Higgins has revealed that she only speaks to three of the Love Island contestants from her series.

The Longford lady appeared on the hit TV dating show back in summer 2019 and finished in fourth place with her then-partner, Curtis Pritchard.

But speaking to The Sun at The Beauty Awards 2023, she admitted that she hasn’t kept in touch with most of her former co-stars since the show wrapped up.

When asked which of her Series 5 castmates she’s still in contact with, she listed her best pal Molly-Mae Hague and her fiancé Tommy Fury.

She also revealed that she speaks to Francesca Allen, who was dumped from the villa after just 12 days, quite “a bit”.

“Other than that, that's probably it,” the 33-year-old added.

Maura also shut down the idea of ever returning to the show as a contestant after serving as the social ambassador for the Love Island Games recently.

"I feel like I've done it. I don't wanna go back, I wanna move forward,” she explained.

"I feel like once is enough. I think my contestant days are definitely done, no more dating shows for me."

Maura recently discussed seeing “too familiar” faces on the Love Island Games – including her ex, Curtis.

Speaking to former Love Island contestant Kem Cetinay on Capital Late Show, she confirmed that the former couple had a “run-in” on the spin-off show.

Kem asked her if it was “weird” to see her ex again, to which she replied: “Do you know what, like, everyone’s very excited about this because obviously they know that I would have had to interview him like, if he gets dumped from the show or if he makes the final.

“So yeah, we could have a run-in there. So yeah, I mean, I don’t know how much I can say but… it was interesting.”

“I’m sure there will be an interview at one point?” Kem asked

Maura replied: “Yeah, there is an interview. Like, I don’t really know if I can say that or not.”

“But I mean, there is an interview and I’m trying to think back like how it went like I think it was okay, I think I was nice. I think,” Maura continued.

“I think there might have been moments where I wasn’t too… polite, but I think I made it more of a joke.”

Curtis also spoke about their reunion on the Nikki and Brie Show, saying: “Yeah we did [bump into each other] to be fair actually.

“She did a great job on the show.

“But yeah, we did see each other, and we saw each other outside the villa as well after the whole programme was done.

“We bumped into each other and we did an after interview.”

He continued: “We were all civil, it was good. I was asking how she is, how’s the family doing, how’s everything going and told her she looked good and [congratulated her] on the job she did on the show.

“It was civil. We bumped onto each other and it was nice to say hello actually.”
